As you continue scrolling, you'll find the full Transparency Page Journal. These entries span from July to December 2025. They document how the form of the sculpture emerged over that period of time.
Included are my dream interpretations, personal life experiences, memories that surfaced, and excerpts from my actual studio journals. It follows how I navigated life as art... How inner experiences, external events, and creative practice informed one another.

I appreciate you taking the time being present with this work!

Screaming Self-Portrait

Artist Statement
Jungian Alchemy is a multi-stage exploration of transformation, embodiment, and the alchemy of the psyche through material, sound, movement, and ritual. Each installation represents a distinct phase of the alchemical process (Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, and Rubedo) mirroring the inner journey of confronting shadow, purification, integration, and wholeness.
The first installation, Nigredo, confronts shadow and dissolves old forms. Using transparency pages and epoxy resin casting, I employ RA (Sun) symbolism and circular forms to materialize the internal process of acknowledging what must be released. This stage is a meditation on darkness, containment, and the surrender required to begin transformation.
Albedo, the second installation, embodies reflection and clarity. The suspended bronze sculpture, Suspended Truth, positions the viewer beneath the scream, forcing a physical encounter with vulnerability and power. The act of looking up becomes both literal and metaphorical: a confrontation with truth, the recognition of self beyond the gaze of others, and the release of control.
In Citrinitas, the energy of integration and awakening comes alive. The performative SCREAM invites the audience to participate, shaking a clear box containing a crayon sculpture until the internal rocks (from the "Where We Gather" performance) destroy it. Through this release, I enact a ritual of catharsis, peeling back layers of identity and witnessing the alchemy of destruction and renewal. (Video unavailable)
Finally, Rubedo, the stage of completion and embodiment, is realized in Transfigured. A found object transformed into a portal, mirrored and metallic, emerges as the sculpture rises from within. Here, past and present, shadow and light, vulnerability and resilience converge. The work celebrates the culmination of transformation: a synthesis of material, ritual, and psychic alchemy, where creation itself becomes a vessel for self-realization.
Together, across all four stages, Jungian Alchemy is a dialogue between conscious and unconscious, body and psyche, maker and observer. It embodies my ongoing inquiry into fear, control, vulnerability, and self-trust… a visual and experiential meditation on the ways we dissolve, reflect, awaken, and ultimately transfigure. The series is a mirror for both artist and viewer, inviting presence, reflection, and the courage to witness the full spectrum of human experience.
